Twinset: brand history

Twinset was born in Carpi (Modena), at the heart of Italy’s knitwear district: according to information shared by the brand, the company is described as founded in 1990, initially focused on refined knitwear, and later evolving into a complete wardrobe of clothing and accessories.

A key figure is Simona Barbieri, connected to the project from the very beginning: industry biographies also recall an entrepreneurial path that started in the late 1980s with the company Light Force, before Twinset became fully established.

In more recent years Twinset has continued to grow as a women’s fashion label with a strong romantic and contemporary identity; in 2025 a new ownership transition was reported in favor of Italian investors (Borletti and Quadrivio).
