CIF = the declared value of the goods + the amount of the insurance + shipping costs - the valuation method used by the Spanish customs service

Customs duty
From 0 to 17%. Some goods are not subject to customs duties (eg books).

VAT (sales tax)
21% of the amount of CIF.

Threshold for customs-free importation
Parcels with FOB value (only the declared value of the goods, excluding the cost of shipping and insurance) up to 22 EUR are not subject to customs duties and VAT (sales tax).

Parcels with FOB value (declared value of goods) up to EUR 150 are not subject to customs duties, but are subject to VAT sales tax.

Parcels with FOB value (declared value of goods) above EUR 150 are subject to customs duties and sales taxes.
