Vegetable tanning is an ancient technique that dates back to two thousand years ago and developed in medieval Tuscany. The leather is placed into the barrels with water containing natural plants and tree bark dyes. To obtain a softer and more flexible leather, the modern tanning technique provides that the barrels are rotated and beaten for about 48 hours.
*Attention! The surface of the vegetable tanned leather has irregularities and roughness and in some areas the color tone can be different. This is not a defect, but it is the characteristic of real leather, worked and vegetable tanned according to ancient Tuscan techniques.
