Classic 19th century vintage stylized "Sac de Voyage" travel bag, signed Tonelli Uomo.
This model of bags appeared in the United States in the 1850-1860s, with the development of the railways. Initially the travel bags were made of carpets and were called "Carpet bags". Over time, the "Carpet bag" has become more and more popular and has spread widely around the world. Traveling bags ("Sac de Voyage") made of leather were in demand by lawyers and doctors, they symbolized high status and wealth.
This retro bag is handmade by Italian artisans; in genuine leather of excellent quality, with embossed crocodile pattern.
