The history of the TOD'S brand began more than a century ago in the Marche region of Italy, from the small workshop opened by the shoemaker Filippo Della Valle in 1920. In the 1940s his son Dorino had production expand to an industrial level, and in the 1970s ' Diego Della Valle took over from his predecessors. Thanks to Diego Della Valle, the brand has become world famous. The company has remained family-owned for over 100 years like all true historic Italian companies.
